Experiment #2 : No Dirt, No Problem

My beginners instinct was to plant the entire packet of seeds.

I have now learned to save most and try out a few to start .

My first seed to sprout was one out of 4 packets of veggies I purchased.

Where this original lettuce sprout ended up growing was not a great place for the roots.

Now here he flourishes in my kitchen window . . . .

Windowsill.

No Maintenance.

Greatness.

MATERIALS :

  • Any Size Bottle (still has the lid)
  • Shower Squishy
  • Aluminum Foil
  • Fertilized Water

I like to give credit where credit is due. My boyfriend and I worked on this model off of this instructables idea.

The only thing different is that we covered the entire bottle in aluminum foil instead of just around the bottom where the roots grow. This is to prevent algae growth.

I think this is the coolest way of growing soil-less. Congrats!
